Educational Qualification

Post No. 1 (Store Keeper Grade II): 12th pass from a recognized Board or University and one year experience in handling stores from a recognized firm, Central/State Government organization or Public Sector Undertaking.

Post No. 2 (Engine Driver): Matriculation or equivalent and Certificate of Competency as Engine Driver from a recognized Government institute or equivalent. Desirable: two years service as Sarang on a vessel of over 400 Boat Horse Power.

Post No. 3 (Lascar): Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognized boards and three years experience in service on a boat.

Post No. 4 (Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade)): 10th standard pass; valid driving licence for both heavy and light motor vehicles; knowledge of motor mechanism to remove minor defects; at least two years experience in driving motor vehicles.

Post No. 5 (MTS (Peon)): Matriculation or equivalent pass and two years experience as an office attendant.

Post No. 6 (MTS (Chowkidar)): Matriculation or equivalent pass and two years experience as Chowkidar in any recognized institution or organization.

What is the selection process?
Applications are scrutinized, followed by document verification, biometric verification and a written examination. Candidates qualifying the written examination are shortlisted for a trade test where applicable. Merit is based on written examination marks.
What is the written examination pattern?
The written examination is pen-paper based, bilingual, one hour long, with 80 objective questions of one mark each and no negative marking.
What are the qualifying marks?
The qualifying marks are 50% in the written examination; for SC and ST candidates, the qualifying marks are 45%. No relaxation is admissible to OBC and EWS candidates.
Where will selected candidates be posted?
Selected Group C candidates are liable for initial posting at any unit or establishment under Coast Guard Region (West), with all-India transfer liability.
