What is the educational qualification?
Class X plus NTC/ITI and NAC in the respective trade. Minimum marks in both NTC/ITI and NAC are 60% for General/OBC and 55% for SC/ST.
What is the age limit?
The upper age limit for General/EWS is 27 years as on 1 October 2026, with applicable category and experience relaxations. Maximum age including relaxations is 56 years.
When do applications open and close?
Online applications open on 21 October 2026 at 10:00 AM and close on 18 November 2026 at 11:45 PM.
What is the examination date?
The computer-based examination is tentatively scheduled for 11 December 2026; dates may change and updates will be posted on the BHEL careers website.
What is the application fee?
UR/EWS/OBC candidates pay ₹1,072. SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates pay ₹472. Bank charges may apply additionally.
What is the selection process?
Selection has two stages: Computer Based Examination, followed by Document Verification and a qualifying Skill Test. Final merit is based on CBE score after eligibility and skill-test qualification.
Can a candidate apply for multiple trades or units?
No. A candidate may apply for vacancies in ONE manufacturing unit and ONE trade only. The CBE will be held on the same day.
What is the salary?
Temporary Artisans receive ₹24,000 per month for one year. After regularization, the pay scale is ₹29,500–₹65,000 plus applicable allowances, subject to company rules.
Is the job transferable?
Selected candidates must serve at the allocated manufacturing unit for at least 20 years; transfer or change of posting will not be entertained during the first 20 years, subject to the conditions stated in the notice.
